Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
That Sunday Circle (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a men’s peer gathering run by Amandha Amarasekara, 89/2 Parakum Mawatha, Battaramulla, Sri Lanka. We operate thatsundaycircle.com (the “Site”). For the purposes of Sri Lanka’s Personal Data Protection Act No. 9 of 2022 (the “PDPA”), we are the controller of the personal data described here. 2. What we are, and what we are not
That Sunday Circle is a community and peer-support gathering. We are not a medical, psychological, psychiatric, counselling, therapy or other regulated professional service, and our facilitators are not qualified professionals in those fields. Please read our Participant Acknowledgement and Disclaimer, which you must accept to join.
3. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you join our mailing list, register for a gathering, fill in a form, pay, or contact us, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, city, age confirmation (you must be 18 or over), any emergency contact you choose to give us, and anything you write to us.
Information you share in the circle. Men in the circle may choose to speak about personal matters such as health, mental health, relationships, family, faith, sexuality or past trauma. We do not ask for this information and do not need it to run the Site. Please do not send it to us through website forms, email or messages. What you choose to say aloud in a gathering is your decision, and Section 7 explains how we and other participants are expected to treat it.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our analytics tools may record your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit.
Cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies to keep the Site working, remember your preferences and understand how the Site is used. Where required, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the Site may not work properly.
Photos and recordings. We do not photograph, film or record gatherings unless every person affected has agreed in advance. You may refuse without any consequence.
4. Why we use your information, and our legal basis

We do not use your information for automated decisions that significantly affect you, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to those above without telling you and, where needed, asking for your consent.
5. Sensitive information
We do not seek sensitive personal information. If you give us any, for example by telling us about a health condition or a dietary or access need, we will use it only for the purpose you gave it for, keep it to the minimum number of people who need it, and delete it once it is no longer needed. By choosing to give it to us, you consent to that use. You may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us.
6. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Site and the circle, such as web hosting, email delivery, form handling, payment processing, messaging platforms and analytics. They may use your information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
- Facilitators and volunteers who need it to organise gatherings, and who are bound to keep it confidential.
- Authorities and other parties where the law requires it, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect someone from serious and imminent harm, or to protect our rights, safety or property.
- A successor, if That Sunday Circle is merged, sold or reorganised. We will tell you about any material change to how your information is handled.
7. Confidentiality within the circle
We ask every participant to keep what others share in the circle private. We cannot guarantee that every participant will do so, and we are not a professional service, so what you say is not covered by the legal confidentiality or privilege that applies to doctors, lawyers or licensed counsellors. Share only what you are comfortable sharing. We will not voluntarily disclose what you say to outsiders, except where we reasonably believe it is necessary to prevent a serious and imminent risk of harm to you or someone else, or where the law requires it.
8. Messaging groups and online platforms
If we run a group on WhatsApp, Telegram or a similar platform, other members of that group may see your name, number and messages. Joining is optional. Those platforms have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.
9. Transfers outside Sri Lanka
Many of our service providers store or process data outside Sri Lanka. Where we transfer your information abroad, we take reasonable steps, such as choosing reputable providers and using contracts, to keep it protected in line with this policy and applicable law.

When a retention period ends, we delete or anonymise the information unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
11. Security and data breaches
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), strong passwords and limited access. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach is likely to put your rights at risk, we will notify you and, where required, the Data Protection Authority, within the time the law sets.
12. Your rights and choices
Subject to applicable law, you may ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- delete your data;
- stop or restrict certain uses of your data, or object to them;
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting use that already took place.
Email thatsundaycircle@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity first, and we will reply within a reasonable time and in any event within the period the law requires. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each message. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Authority of Sri Lanka.
13. Age
The Site and the circle are for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a person under 18 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
14. Third-party sites and links
The Site may embed content from, or link to, other websites and social platforms. They have their own privacy practices and we are not responsible for them.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will change the effective date and version above and, for material changes, give clear notice on the Site or by email. If a change requires your consent, we will ask for it again.
16. Governing law
This policy is governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
